Easy Bat Cookies for Halloween - Girl Bats
Ingredients:
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- Black gel food coloring
- Edible candy eyes
- Pink heart-shaped sprinkles
Instructions:
Mix flour, baking powder, and salt together in a bowl with a whisk
Put away
Melt the butter and mix it with the sugar in a different bowl until the mixture is light and fluffy
Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix them in well
Mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients one at a time until a dough forms
Split the dough in half
Mix in the black gel food coloring to one half and work it in until the color is spread out evenly
Put both halves of the dough in the fridge for at least an hour after you wrap them in plastic wrap
Warm the oven up to 350F 175C and put parchment paper on a baking sheet
Make a ball out of a small amount of black dough
Make it into the body of a bat with ears that are a little pointed
Put the bat body on the baking sheet that has been prepared and press it down a little
Put candy eyes on the bat's body that you can eat
Just below the eyes, make the girl bat's nose with a pink heart-shaped sprinkle
Do this again, but this time leave space between each girl bat body on the baking sheet
Make bat wings out of the black dough that's left over and attach them to the sides of each girl bat
After the oven is hot, bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are just beginning to turn golden
After taking the cookies out of the oven, let them cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before moving them to a wire rack to cool all the way
