British Comfort Food Slow Cooker
This British comfort food slow cooker recipe brings warmth and flavor to your dinner table with tender beef stewed with hearty vegetables and aromatic herbs. Perfect for a cozy night in!
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs beef stew meat
- 3 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 3 carrots, peeled and sliced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons water
- Fresh parsley for garnish optional
Instructions:
Put potatoes, carrots, onion, garlic, and beef stew meat in a slow cooker
Add Worcestershire sauce and beef broth to the slow cooker and mix them together
Add salt, pepper, dried thyme, and dried rosemary to taste
On low, cook for 7 to 8 hours or on high for 4 to 5 hours, until the beef and vegetables are soft
Mix flour and water together in a small bowl until you get a slurry
During the last 30 minutes of cooking, stir the slurry into the slow cooker to make the gravy thicker
When the stew is done, serve it hot and top with fresh parsley if you like
